I was taken aback when I saw the trailer for infection. It seemed like a crazy, off-the-rails seemed genuinely scary thriller that for a description of something too close to reality. When I got the advanced screening passes last week, I had to contain my enthusiasm. Steven Soderbergh at the helm of many talents Oscar-winning/nominated, how could I go wrong?

A new deadly virus was detected after several deaths begin occupancy in the world. As several members of the CDC and WHO travel to find a cure, the world at the edge of a growing epidemic. While some are safe, others must do everything they can to prevent infection, or risk fatal consequences.

It may seem vague, but with so many characters and stories going at once, it's hard to set up a summary without giving away too much. The film takes the approach that provides a structure in the day to day events, which shows how quickly spread and destructive and dumb. The characters come and go help us different perspectives on the effects of the virus, if a citizen almost at random, a zero permanent ground medical, or scientists in the laboratory. We learn early on that no one is safe, and the film does everything to let you know that feeling again and again.

While I was a bit stunned by the almost ridiculous amount of accessories in the beginning of the film, it became clear exactly what kind of soft look for the image Soderbergh. Depending on the location, color scheme changes and reinvents itself. Some scenes look simply superb in its production values, making a big budget Hollywood as an aspect of the project and dirty, gritty indie fans. Soderbergh has never been so easy to classify, and with this film, her first major film Ocean Thirteen, which maintains and promotes its enigmatic character. 1980 synth pounding score was a nice touch and confused, but I would have expected nothing less.

Despite what the trailers and some of my early praise would have you believe, the infection is very slow and meticulous film, which is only partially exciting. Yes, there is a panic tone of the film that brings a good deal - which often turns into the dawn of claustrophobia as the characters and the viewers themselves as diffusion of viruses, destructive - but the tone does not seem fair. Jump and variable disappears almost completely, in some cases, and overdoing for others. It seems totally unable to solve one of the ideal, and consequently, feel good all over-the-place. I do not want to say, considering what is truly a master director Soderbergh, but the film begins when the discharge starts and never seems to find its feet.

Even if I went to the infection with emotion, I went more than a little 'disappointed. From what little the film really has going, it seems like everything has gone to waste (including the tragic death, which were destroyed trailers). If you wanted to be a paranoia-based thriller, not so subtle satire, or just use the fear of contagion can not all be calculated. It 'too slow, and worse, incredibly boring. It is better to watch a trailer of a cycle, and imagine how much better the film seems it actually is.
